ENVIRO-TEC VARIABLE AIR VOLUME (VAV)
Our VAV systems operate by varying the airflow at a constant temperature, differing from constant air volume systems which supply a constant airflow at variable temperatures.
Our Enviro-Tec terminals, combined with the patented FlowStar™ airflow sensor, are industry leaders. They are among the most accurate and quiet airflow control devices on the international market.
VAV systems are popular in America, where they are the terminal device of choice, but they are often considered something of a speciality in the European market. However, there are many existing installations in the UK that require refurbishment, replacement, or control modernisation – this is the ideal time to consider the benefits of a VAV system.
The system’s appropriate terminals are rated in accordance with AHRI Standard 880 and are ETL listed (proof of product compliance to recognised safety standards) to ensure compliance and product integrity.
Several configurations are available and Klima-Therm provides the full range of Enviro-Tec products for use in both new or retrofit projects, including:
- Single-duct constant volume terminal, or variable volume terminal suitable for airflows of up to 4m3/sec
- Parallel fan-powered and series flow terminals, from 100 to 1,200 litres per second
- Low height models
- Factory-fitted analogue and specified digital controls
- Variable volume airflow measurement stations and retrofit valves
Units are designed for precise air delivery throughout their entire operating range and they perform at extremely low sound levels, which is an important consideration in buildings today.
The FlowStar™ airflow sensor is the industry leader in terms of quietly and precisely measuring the airflow – accurate measurements are the basis for complete airflow control.
Compact by design, the system’s quiet operation means it is more versatile in terms of layout, and units can be placed above occupied spaces. It is, therefore, unnecessary to position the units in corridors or halls, reducing the need for long and more expensive discharge duct runs.
